Paddling improvements have been happening to improve Stewart Park’s public lake access. Stewart Park was identified as one of Ithaca’s canoe and kayak launch sites in the recently completed Cayuga Lake Blueway Trail Master Plan. The City has installed lockable storage racks for canoes, kayaks and racing shells that are available for $100 – 130 per space and has contracted with Paddle ‘n More to provide rentals of kayaks and paddleboards as well as classes. Blueway Trail launch improvements were implemented at the Cascadilla Boathouse and at the east end of the park.
In 2021 these signs were be installed to improve identification of the trail.
